Today Omnifam Foundation announced the appointment of businessman Abraham Lessig as its new Director. Mr. Lessig, a longstanding supporter of Omnifam and a resident of Tel Aviv, Israel, will succeed Arvin Sloane, who will step down from day-to-day operational responsibility to pursue an independent project. Sloane announced the changes at Omnifam's New Year's Day party for donors and employees. "There is no better man for the job, said Sloane. "It gives me great comfort to know that Omnifam will be in such capable hands."

Abraham Lessig is world renowned for his business acumen and philanthropic endeavors. A graduate of the Weizmann Institute of Science, he is a noted chemical engineer, and CEO of the Israeli-based Lessig Industries. He has been associated with Omnifam since the 1980s, most recently as the Chair of their Middle East Donors Association. Lessig says he is ready for his new post. "I look forward to serving the world," he declared. "It is an honor to be chosen for this role."

Sloane reassured the assembled staffers and donors that he is not deserting them. "I may not be here every day, but you can't get rid of me that easily," he joked. "I intend to maintain a presence at Omnifam, mostly in an advisory capacity." He raised his glass to the assembly in a toast. "I will always be around, somewhere."

Omnifam is a volunteer-based non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of human dignity throughout the world. By utilizing the resources of its volunteers and sponsors, Omnifam is able to provide needed international disaster relief and humanitarian aid to people from all walks of life.
